Tete a' Tete

Hello my dear friends,

Tonight, before meeting with some new friends for sushi we decided to stop by Beverly Hills and kill some time. It is always surreal to walk around this luxurious little town without fantasizing of one day being able to go inside these boutiques and being able to walk out with tons of bags in hand. For now, I enjoy the amazing window displays and the beautiful holiday decorations. But a girl can dream right?!

So tonight we met with a couple from Miami and I had a great time. The chemistry was there and I'm very excited to add more fabulous people into my life. Which, if you have read my blog before, you know it hasn't been easy adjusting into this city. It's been a long process and definitely something that I'm still working on. But I have to say, that I'm feeling happier and content on where my life is going right now. My new job is taking me into the direction that I want and I have to say that, I'm excited to see what the future holds.

 Well, hello there!

So I'm finally home after attending the screening of The Life of PI. It was amazing and it's always nice to go to these events where they have Q&A with the writers, directors and actors. Definitely gives you a different perspective of all the different aspects that involves making of a movie. The Life of PI it's an amazing story about a boy stranded in the sea with a tiger. IF you guys haven't seen it, I definitely recommended. It will touch your hearts and will open your minds.

These pictures were taken of course, on Hollywood Blvd. A place I really don't visit but, pass by on my way to work. I love to be first on the red light and see all these interesting characters cross the street. Just when you thought you've seen it all...There goes an individual that will make you smile and make your day. Tonight was also the debut of my new moody bouquet wide legs. OMG! I love these pants! I will be wearing this a lot for sure. I felt super tall and the fabric is amazing. There are many ways that I can style these beauties and I cannot wait.

For now I must go. I have to be at work at 5am. Good night!

Sneaky Xmas

 Hello my dear friends,

Doesn't it feel as if it was just a few weeks ago we were eating ice cream and running around in our tank tops in the summer? But now, almost overnight christmas decorations are all over the place. The lights, music and of course, the commercials! Pushing us into this crazy spending routine every holiday which sadly erases the true meaning of Christmas. I have never participated in the circus that it is black sunday neither of have I obsessed over getting every person I know a xmas present. I'm proud to say that I'm not a victim of this heavy commercialized holiday.

I'm not going to deny that I do however, love the decorations, music and food. I prefer having dinner with friends and family this day and watch movies. Homemade cards or gifts are always in my opinion, the most special ones.  " Giving" doesn't necessarily has to be in this holiday. It can be any time of the year. This holiday should be about helping others and perhaps, growing closer to your love ones. When I was growing up in the Caribbean the xmas that I remember, it was more of the closeness rather than any extra material new possession that I would obtain. Lets not forget the less fortunate ones this season and  let the real spirit of xmas fill our hearts.

Ciao.

Let me shine

Happy sunday everyone!

Today was my day off from work and for it to be a sunday it's just a blessing! Work can be very hectic especially on the weekends. So I took full advantage this day and went to a screening of Skyfall were I found this explosion of color in the lobby and I just couldn't help myself and  do a little shoot.
You see at work, I'm required to wear all black unlike my last job that they would encouraged their employees to be who they  were and  creativity would just flow naturally in the way you expressed yourself through dressing. I miss that.

So, when I'm off work I take great joy in dressing up regardless the occasion. Something bright is usually my first choice. It's amazing how color can make you and others around you  happy. Makes you stand out and would even flatter you ( depending on skin/hair color) Don't be afraid. Just let it shine!

Ciao.

Raining polka dots and butterflies

Hello there,

Today I woke up to a very rainy day here in Los Angeles. Which is  a nice change for the always hot and dry weather we usually have. Summer was definitely brutal here in SoCal esp for us that live in the valley without ac :s so this weather changes are a great treat. I chose to wear my beloved raincoat ( finally) from anthropologie which I adore and so does my boyfriend! It has butterflies motif lining and it is very nice and soft. I also couldn't resist to once again reach out for my polka stevies which I can't get enough of these days.

We took a break from running errands all day long and decided to stop at the local farmer's market. The rain activated our senses and we left the place with bags full of strawberries, nuts, mushrooms and the very addicting grapes. As I write this post I feel very excited to be back in the blogsphere and I'm looking  forward to sharing more with all of you! Thank you for reading.

Until next time,

Ciao.
